Berkeley School District Goes Organic

Re-Inventing Our Children's Lunches: Ann Cooper's Strong Message is to Stop "Feeding our Children to Death"

Ann Cooper is a powerful voice behind the movement to improve the standard of nutrition in our school cafeterias and her message is loud and clear: We are teaching our children to eat unhealthy food.  In her crucial speech on TED she draws attention to the prevalence of chemically-laden processed foods in school lunches and draws a link to the increased rates of early-onset diabetes in America's children.

Her work transforming a Berkeley school district where she has introduced salad bars, organic and local produce, freshly-prepared meals, and hands-on garden programs with positive results demonstrates that the time has come to raise awareness about this critical issue and make a change for the better in the lives of our children and the future of our country.

Ms. Cooper's strained voice can be challenging to listen to, but she has been effected crucial changes in the diets of thousands of young people and we recommend that you view this important video at http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/ann_cooper_talks_school_lunches.html.
