Friday Evening Sitar Concert with El Dia de los Muertos Altar
Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, is a very special and sacred custom, very similar to All Saints Day. Nov. 1. Chris Corsbie and guests will perform Indian music in the garden at Casa de Luz from 6:30 until 9:00 pm. All are invited to enjoy Indian night dinner from the Dining Room, congregate in the garden and listen to sitar music on the deck.
This evening, the Dead are invited as well. We will gather to meditate upon the spirits of those whom we love but have moved on to the Mas Alla (Great Beyond). We will have an altar (or ofrenda) where one can place momentos or photos of beloved dead. Chris will play special music upon the sitar including a raga to invoke the spirit of the dead. May their blessed light shine through the darkness veiling our world from theirs on this hallowed eve.
