Interview with Curt Ellis of "King Corn" Documentary

Here is a brief video interview (Part I) with filmmaker Curt Ellis about his documentary King Corn

Ellis explains the origins of the dramatic increase and pervasive use of high fructose corn syrup in the American diet.  He traces it from the government subsidies of corn farming in the 1970's which led to over production, resulting in "mountains of corn."  Not the kind of sweet corn that one enjoys on the cob, but Grade Two Feed Corn, which sat around in piles for several years before scientists developed High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is now a pervasive ingredient in American processed foods.   Not just cookies but tomato sauce and bread.
