Our Lovely Day in the Garden

During this busy and beautiful weekend in Austin, events such as the Maker's Faire, Orienteering Meets, the UT football game, and a plant sale at the Ladybird Wildflower Center attracted some of our usual participants in the Garden Workday.  We were blessed by the appearance of seven brand new Stewards, as if they knew that many of our regulars wouldn't be on hand today.  We busied ourselves with weeding, pruning, removing garbage and debris, transplanting, raking, sweeping, and disposing of the trimmings.  We'd like to thank Mary Blumberg, Sonia Crawford, James Curtin, Jean El Harim, David Elden, Donna Hoffman, Jeff Hull (pictured below), and David Sackmary for their hard work and great teamwork, and for caring about the garden.  All of us were delighted to be joined by some children who were very helpful.  Our special thanks to Angel, Dakota, and Sakura for helping sweep the playground and path, removing debris from the roof, cutting trimming into small pieces.   Below are several photos from today's workday.  After our work was done, we enjoyed a delicious lunch together in the Dining Room.

The Stewards of Casa de Luz meets again on Saturday, November 29th.  For details contact Jinji at ohjinji@mac.com or 512-350-8505.
