Poached Pears in Sauce: New Dessert Reviewed by Casa de Luz Patron

In the "Evolving Art of Casa de Luz Deserts" (you can read that story from a week or so ago under "Recent Posts") we mentioned that Barbara Martin and her dessert staff would be developing some new desserts.  The first new dessert has arrived and has received great reviews from Casa de luz diners!

One diner had this to say.  "In a recent consultation, Warren Kramer recommended that I eat poached pears because they're easier to digest than raw fruit, so I was honored to be the first one to buy and sample the new desert.  It was delicious! The pear was perfectly poached--not too soft, in organic apple juice, and I liked that there was no added sweetener.  I also like that healthy ingredients such as agar and kuzu were used to thicken the sauce--which was robust and delicious: cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.  The stewed blackberry is a beautiful and delicious finishing touch.  Kudos to Casa de Luz for a great new addition to the Casa de Luz dessert case!"

When buying the poached pear desert, you might want to purchase it with your meal and let it come to room temperature before eating it.  Enjoy and look forward to the introduction of some more new desserts in upcoming weeks.
