Last time we went boating, we spent more time digging around for lost gear than actually relaxing. This time, I want to be prepared and not worry about forgetting stuff. What gear do you always bring to make sure the day runs smoothly?

I think half the fun is realizing what you forgot, but yeah, having a system is smart. I never remember bug spray and always regret it. Maybe this year I’ll finally make that checklist.
I’ve definitely been there—digging around the bottom of the bag for sunscreen or the one missing towel. Now, I keep a pre-packed lake bag with the essentials: dry bags for phones, lots of sunscreen, a first-aid kit, and a bunch of hats and sunglasses. Renting from https://thecliffsmarina.com/ made it easier for us since they have life jackets and safety gear included, but it still helps to have a checklist for snacks, water, and even simple stuff like trash bags. Double-check that you have enough shade and maybe even a little Bluetooth speaker for music. Makes the day way less stressful.
