We’re stuck trying to decide if we should buy a brand new house or just go with an older one that’s already built. New builds look amazing, but there’s always stuff that’s not finished or takes forever. Older homes seem more solid, but I worry about hidden repairs. Anyone else go through this? What made you choose?

My cousin just moved into a new build and she loves how clean and modern everything is, but she did say dealing with contractors was a headache sometimes. I guess it really just depends on what you value more.
We had the same debate last year. Ended up going with an existing home because the neighborhood was established and we liked the mature trees, but new builds are definitely tempting with all the fresh everything. I did a ton of research on Homes For Sale in Utah where they compare pros and cons of both options—things like warranties, HOA fees, and whether new neighborhoods are still under construction. For us, it came down to wanting a backyard right away instead of waiting for landscaping to get done, but new homes are great if you want everything exactly your way from the start.
