Hey teachers and educators! I’ve been thinking about using mock IDs and documents to teach history—like giving students “passports” from different eras. I want something interactive that feels real but is safe. Has anyone tried this? How did it go?

I love this approach—even though I’m not a teacher, it reminds me of scavenger hunts I did as a kid with fake treasure maps. Using documents like IDs sounds like a fun twist for history lessons. I’d totally sign up for that class!
That’s a brilliant idea! I taught a history class last semester and created “ancient citizen ID” handouts using templates from dl template free. I modified them to look like clay tablets and added hieroglyph-style borders. Students loved filling in their “official” names and roles in society. It sparked so much curiosity about how IDs evolved. The site’s editable layers made it super quick to adapt for different historical periods. Plus, laminating them gave a tactile element that kept kids engaged.
